The pxidigital Founder's Vision

An introduction to the concept from the Founder of pxidigital®, Mr Barrie Harrop.  Taken from the launch in Australia to franchisees.

The concept is being introduced to Australia by CEO of Velocitimage, Mr Barrie Harrop, and the Managing Director of Franchise Point, Mr Michael Anthony.

BHarrop-PXI-November2006-cropped.JPG Mr Harrop, who was the Founding Director of Wendy’s and responsible for establishing “Melbourne Central” and creating Australia’s first food court, brings a wealth of business knowledge to this new franchise venture.

“I am drawn to business opportunities that really stand out in the market,” Mr Harrop said.

“I knew immediately after being introduced to the pxidigital franchise concept that it would revolutionize the photo processing market, and prove to be a solid franchise investment for those interested in starting their own business.”

pxidigital® is a digital photo processing kiosk that can be established within shopping centres, hospitals, train stations, and even office foyers, providing faster and better quality service than mini-labs.

“In the early stages of developing pxidigital we spent USD$50 million and 14 months of extensive retail testing to ensure this franchise would really take off,” Mr Harrop said.

“Recently, we also employed a leading Australian investment bank to complete extensive business-modelling research on pxidigital. This bank estimates a 50 to 100 per cent return on investment per year.

“Franchisees have a choice between two franchise models - the first requires franchisees to spend about an hour per week managing two to four machines in a major shopping centre.

“The second model would initially require a full-time commitment and involves regional development through the franchisee managing up to 20 machines.

“People can enter the franchise for $50,000, or $30,000 for early adopters, which includes the kiosk, as well as the ongoing training and support provided by the pxidigital team.

“Franchisees will be provided with 24 hour, seven day a week online maintenance back-up from Getronics and NeoProducts, as well as access to a website, paper alert messaging service, global marketing programs, and research and development product extensions and training.

“We have already received 50 franchise applications in just one month of franchising and I’m extremely confident this new franchise concept will soon be the fastest growing franchise system in the country, and a leader in its market.”
